Canada Welcomes Toot and Gordo

So I am lying here in our room and looking out the window and it has finally hit me, we are here! All I can see through the slit in the curtain is the Canadian flag flapping around in the wind on a lit up flag pole.  Its very beautiful!

Flights weren't too bad but I did seem to relate to the small screaming child on the second leg of the long haul flight.  I feel ya kid, but then I realised he had more leg space than either of us and his feet didnt even reach the edge of the seat, so cry me a river, but in silence please!

We landed in Vancouver from a very full flight and was beginning to wonder if our baggage was joining us.  But there it was almost last cab off the rank (its ok Jnr, the fruchocs, milo, V and uggies will be joining you shortly).

We cleared customs and got our transfer to the hotel. We literally threw our stuff in the room, changed t-shirts, applied deoderant liberally and headed for the ski clothing shop.  We had 4.5 hours to learn about ski gear, then find some to fit both of us and then tackle boots.  With shops closing at 6pm, the final item of clothing was purchased at 5:45pm.  You may all think we are dumb for waiting to get it here but we got a bargain.

Boot shopping may sound easy for normal ankle sized people.  But for the ankle impaired (thats right, Tooty) we were now racing against the boot and ankle clock.  With somewhat swollen ankles from flying, Toots cankles were now super cankles.  Not so easy to find boots for.  Having said that she now has some rather awesome boots that Gordo wants but Gordos skinny bitch ankles are too small and she had to settle for plain Jane boots.

After power shopping we stopped at the supermarket on the way back and bought some hot soup and a grilled pulled pork and provolone ciabatta roll and also some salad and then headed back to the hotel to tuck in for the evening.

We have now had word that the universe is against us and Jnr reuniting tomorrow.  He car has crapped itself several times while driving from Whistler to Canmore and then once going they got stuck in traffic due to an avalanche.  Fingers crossed the car makes it to Canmore for them tomorrow.  Otherwise Tooty will have to drown her sorrows in the 1kg tin of milo while eating the 1kg bag of fruchocs meant for Jnr. Lets hope that car gets going so new clothing purchased still fits.

Thats all for now. Speak soon

Toot and Gordo Xx.
